Changes Air Transport Industry after Deregulation, Specific Case of Germany

The theme of this thesis is the air transport and its dramatic and dynamic development in the last twenty years. The key driving force behind this change was the deregulation of air agreements and liberalization of international markets, which took place in the seventies in the USA and in the nineties in Europe. This work addresses specific and general effects of deregulation and the development of air transport industry and aims to identify and analyze changes of its structures in space and time. One of the major and direct impacts and consequences of deregulation is that the free market allowed the emergence of new low-cost airlines, which significantly changed the structure and trends of air transport. The changes allowed for greater mobility of people, goods and capital, and also caused a partial change in consumer behaviour of individuals and institutions, and even more interconnected global economy. The source of data and information are primarily articles in professional journals written in English. Knowledge from particular analysis and research approaches to air traffic from the first part of this work is confronted with empirical research. Impact of low-cost airlines on air transport market

The master thesis analyses the impact of low-cost carriers on development of both primary and secondary airports. The analysis of selected airports in Italy, Germany, Norway and Sweden and following comparison between the development across the regions are the used methods. The thesis examines the historical development, liberalization of the market, formation of low-cost carriers and their impact on the development of secondary airports and airports themselves. The analysis of primary and secondary airports in three geographically different regions allows a comparison of the development between both airports groups and the identification of the impact of low-cost airlines on different regions of Europe.

The ambition of the whole thesis is not only to follow the trend of low-cost carriers but also the trend of the development of those carriers. As a result, the part of the study is an analysis of low-cost strategic model and a suggestion of new classification for the low-cost carriers as well as comparison of two region from the same perspective.

Změny v marketingové strategii leteckých společností v Evropě způsobené růstem nízkonákladových leteckých společností v Evropě

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the changes to marketing strategy of airline companies in Europe due the proliferation of low-cost carriers in Europe. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the theoretical part the marketing strategy framework is established by reviewing the latest literature on marketing theory and its application to the airline industry. The second chapter provides the historical background and shows the specifics of the airline industry in order to determine when the proliferation of low-cost carriers in Europe occurred. It also analyzes the impact the proliferation had on the business operations of the network carriers by looking at the changes to different elements of the marketing mix. Finally the third chapter summarizes the authors research on consumer behavior in the airline industry. The research was conducted through a quantitative questionnaire and it investigates consumers perception of price and brand awareness.
Low-cost airlines and their position in the Iternational market

The bachelor thesis deals with the position of low-cost airlines in the Iternational market. The aim of the thesis is to find out if the low-cost airlines are able to compete with traditional airlines. The main part is consist of SWOT Analysis, comparison of net profit/loss, number of passengers, operating income/expenses, basic activities and services of two representatives of traditional and low-cost airlines. The information and data of British Airways and EasyJet were used for the analysis and comparison.

My thesis is focused on the comparison of traditional and low-cost air companies and its perspective into the future. The theoretical part is focused on a description and an analysis of air traffic both in the Czech Republic and in the world from the history till the present time. The practical part describes an analysis of services provided at the airport Praha Ruzyně. There is also introduced a company České aerolinie as the biggest air carrier on the Czech market. The attention is also given to a general low-cost model of this type of carrier. According to a current high competitive strength I made a comparison of traditional and low-cost carriers and thanks to a questionnaire inquire I suggested the recommendations contributing to production improvement.
Competition in the air transport

The bachelor work "Competition in the air transport area" deals with the competition among the airline operators. It is specifically focused on the specification of competitive advantages in the air transport area and includes informations about the factors having an impact upon customer´s choice of an airline operator for his travels. The bachelor work deals with the overview of history and grow of the aviation, dealing also with the biggest Czech airline operator Czech Airlines and their current position in the air transport area. The practical part of my bachelor work includes informations about the biggest CSA´s competition at the European market. The low-cost airline operators have a great influence upon the competition in the air transport area. I mentioned their situation in current air transport area and further I tried to find out the customers´ opinions about low-cost aircraft operators.
